September plans

14th July 2020

Dear Parents,

Following the government’s recent announcement with regards school plans for September, I would like to let you know how we are planning to work as a school.

All children will return to school on Thursday 3rd September.  The government guidance is that pupils will be able to return to whole class bubbles.  As always they will have their assigned teacher and teaching assistant.  Any children who are supported by additional adults will still have this support in class.

The government are reinstating compulsory school attendance for school age pupils.  Therefore the usual rules regarding attendance will apply including the availability to issue sanctions for non-attendance.

Our intention is to resume breakfast and afterschool club from September.

Breakfast club will start at 8am and be in both of the halls.

Breakfast club is provided at the cost of 50p per session which can be paid each day.

After school club will be available from 3.15pm – 5.45 daily at a cost of £4.00 per session.  Parents will need to book these sessions in advance via the XTND booking forms which can be found in the office.

As you are aware, the government guidance changes regularly and to avoid confusion and ensure when information we give you is as current as it can be we will send out detailed information regarding the timing of the school day in the last week of the summer holidays.  However our plan will be to free flow into the school from 8.40am and a free flow collection from 3pm.  Specific details will be released in the last week of the holidays.

If you have not already registered for parents pay please contact the office as this is the easiest way to receive email communication.  Alternatively keep checking the website and school Facebook page as all updates will be posted there.

As we come to end of term please can I express my heartfelt thanks to all the parents and friends of Bournville Primary school.  The unending support the school has received has been overwhelming and we are extremely grateful to you all.

It has been the strangest of times in recent months but I am optimistic that September will bring a sense of normality to us all and I look forward to welcoming all our children back.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer break

Yours Sincerely

Marie Berry
