End of day

Dear Parents,

At the end of the day we have approximately 450 children being collected from their classes.  This means that we have a very high number of adults coming onto site at this time.  As a result and to aid a smooth end of day transition, we have created a one way exit at the end of the day.  We ask parents to wait at the side gate by the minibus.  We open this gate at 3.10pm and parents walk around the building through the Year 5 and 6 courtyard and through the playground to collect children and then exit via the green gate by Nursery.

Over the last few weeks the number of parents entering school the opposite way has increased.  We understand that for children in the younger year groups, this is a quicker route, however this has the knock on effect of creating bottle necks for parents entering and exiting through the same gate.

We have also seen children in our older year groups who walk home by themselves exiting through the entry gate.  I have spoken to these children in school to remind them about the expectations for the end of the day.

Please can we ask parents to support us with these routines and model to the children how adults will follow the expectations.

If their is a specific reason this might be an issue to you, please can you speak to member of SLT on the gate.

Many thanks for your support with this matter

Kind regards
