Tonight I was alerted to some unsafe parking at the end of the day.  I walked out to the end of the gate and saw several cars parked unsafely.  This included, on the pavement outside school, on the zig zag lines and also double parking across the pavement on Windemere avenue.  I challenged several drivers to move their cars and park more safely.  Please can I remind all parents that is a community responsibility to ensure that safe parking and driving outside of our school is happening.  It is illegal to mount pavements to park and park of the yellow zig zag lines around the school.  You could face a fixed penalty notice and 3 points on your driving licence.  I have alerted our PCSO team and asked them to do some checks around the start and end of day.  I will also ensure that there is a staff presence and we will be challenging poor driving and parking around school.  Please ensure that you are being a responsible driver around our school and keeping our children safe.
