Information about Group A Streptococcus
Mon 05 Dec 2022Group A Streptococcus is a bacteria that causes mild illnesses like sore throats and skin infections.
Rarely, these bacteria can cause severe illness called 'Invasive Group A Streptococcus disease'. Please see the link below for more information:

We have not had any cases of Invasive Group A Streptococcus disease in school.
We have had a few cases of mild illnesses related to Group A Strep as we always do at this time of year.
We are following advice to continue with rigorous cleaning and regular hand washing to reduce the spread of these mild illnesses.
