  • Transition support

    Tue 26 Mar 2024

As part of Nurture we recognise that 'Transition are an important part of children's lives'. Transition can be very big like changing school, class or moving house.  But they can also be very small such as coming in from playtime, lining up for lunch or leaving parents at the gate.  Children can respond to these transistions in different ways and sometimes we need to adapt our adult behaviours to support our children.  North Somerset parent Carers Working Together are offering a free parent webinar on Thursday 28th March 10am-12pm.  You are welcome to follow this link to join this Zoom call and learn more about how you can support your child.

  • 4a new teacher appointment

    Fri 01 Mar 2024

    Dear parents,

Following the recent news that Miss Reasons will be leaving us at Easter, I wanted to update you about the staffing plans for term 5 and 6.  Last week we held a recruitment day for the role of Year 4 teacher and I am please to inform you that we were successful in appointing Miss Eleanor Hale as our new teacher.  I would like to welcome Miss Hale to the Bournville family, and I am sure you will join me in issuing a warm welcome.  Miss Hale will be joining us before Easter to enable a period of smooth transition prior to Miss Reasons leaving.  This will include joining us for parents evening and upcoming ISP meetings.

If you have any questions regarding this appointment, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Kind regards

    Marie Berry

  • Y2 and5 changes

    Fri 01 Mar 2024

    Dear Parents,

I would like to update you about some staffing changes.

In order to cover some current staff absence and ensure that children receive as consistent a provision as possible, I have made some adjustment to the staffing in school.

Mrs Paddon and Mrs Richards have both temporarily increased their working days.  This will enable Mrs Richards to teach in 2A for 4 days a week Monday - Thursday.  Mrs Corlett will be teaching the class on a Friday.

So this cover can take place, Mrs Paddon will be increasing to teach 5B for 4 days a week, Tuesday to Friday, with Miss Wright teaching the class on a Monday.  By utilising existing school staff to create the class cover, we hope to minimise the disruption as much as possible and ensure staff in the classes will be familiar to the children.  Support staff teams will not be changing.

Should you have any questions regarding this please do not hesitate to speak to a member of SLT.

    Kind regards

    Marie Berry
